Greetings! I am blessed to have married my sweetheart 35 years ago, and we have eight children, one son-in-law, and two amazing grandchildren! I have homeschooled all my children from the beginning, with four more yet to graduate. I love quilting and sewing (especially for my grandchildren), scrapbooking and card making, cooking and baking, and there is nothing like reading a good book (though spare time is difficult to find). My husband and I have been in full time ministry since 1996. Daughters of Destiny began as a prayer concern, between a friend and myself, for our daughters to obtain like minded friends that would encourage them in things for the Lord. After a few years of praying, the Lord directed our plans towards organizing a week long conference in 2005 for young ladies ages 12 through 18. Over the years, the conference has reached hundreds of young ladies from all over the United States (actually one year we had a staff member from England!) and life long relationships have been achieved. It is exciting to see how the Lord has worked over the past 18 years! To God be ALL the glory!!
Mrs. Daphne Edmonston, Assistant Director
Daphne has been a vital part of the Daughters of Destiny Conference for the past 13 years and has been a blessing to many, sharing her talents and love for the Lord Jesus Christ. She is a pastor's wife, who loves to read and teach the Bible, and has a passion for discipling women.
She enjoys writing, reading, all things outdoors, art and beauty. She especially treasures opportunities to share these pastimes with her six precious grandchildren.
Mrs. Rachel Rorrer, Support Staff/Group Recreation Leader
Hello there, my name is Rachel Rorrer. I was born and raised in a loving Christian home with 5 brothers and 2 sisters. I grew up and still live in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. I was homeschooled from start to finish. When I was 19, I started to volunteer with our local rescue squad and fire department. There, I met the love of my life who I then married 2 years later. We now have two beautiful children, Hagen (4) and Caysen (2). Some of my hobbies are taking care of my children, photography, baking, hunting, and spending time outside. I work for Montgomery County EMS as an EMT serving the community in their time of need. I've been coming to Daughters of Destiny since it started and attending since I was 12! Daughters of Destiny is something I always look forward to each year. I look forward to meeting and getting to know each one of you this year.
Miss Kate McKinney, Camp Nurse
Hello All, I’m Kate! I am thankful to be returning once again this year. Daughters of Destiny has been a constant in my life since it began in 2005, having attended nearly every year since the camp began. It has been such a blessing! As a Camper-Turned-Staff, I’ve served in a variety of roles. This year I am serving again as camp nurse and skill builder leader! A bit about me: I am a night shift Labor & Delivery nurse (pardon my yawns). I enjoy travel, art - specifically watercolor and pen/ink, and music, among many other things! Myself and my dog, Luna live in Lynchburg, VA. I am looking forward to this year; seeing old friends and making new ones.
Mrs. Amy Walker, Support Staff/Photographer
My name is Amy Walker. I currently live in Chesapeake, VA with my husband and three children, but grew up mainly in different parts of central VA. I serve as one of the group leaders in our church’s youth group and love getting to know who people really and truly are. I love spending time outside, photography, reading, and coloring (to name a few things).
I always look forward to this week at Daughters of Destiny each year and can’t wait to meet you there!

Miss Abigail Mabus, Counselor
My name is Abigail Mabus, and I attended Daughters of Destiny for six years as a camper. Currently I work as a nurse on a cardiac unit. In my spare time I enjoy reading and art. I’m excited to be coming back as staff this year!
Mrs. Angela Pendry, Counselor
My name is Angela Pendry. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom of four children. I came to know the Lord at a very young age, but didn’t really commit to living my life for Him until my teen years. I have been involved with camps/conferences most of my life. I especially love serving as a counselor. I enjoy crocheting, painting, hiking, gardening, reading, and spending time with my family. I always look forward to Daughters of Destiny and seeing how the Lord works in hearts and lives, to God be the glory!
Miss Sarah Fansler, Counselor
Hello, my name is Sarah Fansler and I cannot wait for Daughters of Destiny this year. I have been around Daughters of Destiny since the beginning, having to drop off my older sister for a few years before I reached the age requirement, I simply couldn’t wait until I was old enough to be a camper! I attended as a camper until I aged out and then I became a counselor. During the 51 weeks of the year that I’m not at camp, I am a nanny and have been for over 6 years. The children have ranged in age from infants to a 21-year-old with special needs. Also, I have successfully watched 7 kids at once. Currently, I’m caring for two girls and one boy (7-year-old girl, 2.5 year-old girl, and a 4 month-old baby boy) Mon-Fri. When I’m not working you might find me doing photography, quilting, acrylic pouring, paddle boarding, playing games with my family, or volunteering in my church's children’s program. Additionally, I have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development along with a couple of certificates. I absolutely can’t wait to see and meet everyone at camp this year.
Miss Becky Wagner, Counselor
Hello! I have always lived in Michigan and am blessed to have been educated at home along with my three siblings. I have been promoted to aunt status, which I find very delightful. The Lord has given me the desire to invest in young women, encouraging their spiritual growth and helping them develop their spiritual gifts, and counseling at Daughters of Destiny is one way that I am able to carry out this joyful ministry. I have been able to counsel at eleven previous years of Daughters of Destiny and am very happy to be able to return again this year. I enjoy all things homemaking, especially baking and cooking. I also love spending time encouraging people, especially busy moms, the elderly, and the young ladies from my local fellowship. If I were to come upon the rare thing called spare time, and I was not in the kitchen, you might also find me playing the piano or violin, reading a good book, or gardening. My prayer is that my life will be a channel of blessing to those around me and will point others to Christ.
Mrs. Christine Domont, Counselor
I love the mission of Daughters of Destiny to young women, teaching skills and digging into God's Word, and I am blessed to be able to help out in anyway I can. My husband and I are full time state-side missionaries with Open Air Campaigners, doing evangelism work out where the people are that won't come into a church and equipping the church to go out. I am a mom to four young adults, ages 15-19, having homeschooled all of them. I look forward to sharing a week of fun and learning together with each of you that attend DOD.
